TGSE2k9 Day 2

Posted in personal on February 20th, 2009  (Current Mood: goth/tired) by darkskye

Well its day 2 and last night was not so much fun.

Head->pillow time was sucessfully 2300h, however me->sleep time was 0100h with one moment of reawaking at 0300h.
However, unlike the previous night I didn’t go and do something between 2300h and 0100h, but it did not seem like that much time had passed.

All in all, not much difference on pre-TGSE2k9 sleep ‘patterns’, but its only day 2 so I can’t really expect miracles.

Still, its Friday (yay!) which means no obligations or requirements for getting up at any specific time tomorrow, however the laptop-bedroom ban will remain in full effect.

Peace!

TGSE2k9 Day 1

Posted in personal on February 19th, 2009  (Current Mood: goth/tired) by darkskye

The first night of TGSE2k9 could have gone better.

The intended head-down time was 2300h, and ended up as 2330h (damn you world of goo!).

After 30 minutes of failing to drop off, I got up and returned to the office for 30 minutes of solitare before retrying.

The idea behind that, as my CMHP explained, is that if you find you’re spending too long falling asleep, you’ll get yourself in to a circle of keeping yourself awake, worrying about not falling asleep.

The final head-down time was 0030h and sleep occured probably within the next 15 minutes.

I don’t remember waking during the night (first time in a looooong time) but only getting 5.25h sleep has left me still tired for the day.

So there’s not been much of a change in my overall energy levels, but its only been one day and the sleep was better.

TGSE2k9 continues tonight …

The great sleep experiment 2009

Posted in personal on February 19th, 2009 by darkskye

First of all I’d not like to apologise for the lack of recent postings, I didn’t really post that much anyway.

Now, on to the great sleep experiment 2k9.

Under the advice from my CMHP I’m undertaking an experiment which should make some serious in roads in to fixing my … erratic .. sleep pattern. If you could actually call it a pattern, maybe a new form of hyperstatistics could see one.

The experiment is simple, turn the bedroom back in to a place for sleep. Only sleep.

This means that the only things in my bedroom now are a landline phone (which I may yet move in to the office) and my mobile charger as well as the usual bedroom items such as a bed and a splattering of clothes all over the floor.

There is to be no more falling asleep to whatever I leave playing on the laptop (which is banned from the bedroom now), no late night TV with a sleep timer (which is difficult since thats now my primary monitor in the office), just clothes off, lights out, sleep.

Lets see how it goes…
